Leah Gutentag

Our first intern on the list, Leah, hails from Topanga Canyon right here in California. Leah is currently majoring in Athletic Training with a minor in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. Her favorite class so far has been Physiology because of the professor, Dr. Buono, who has a fun and interesting manner. Leah’s least favorite class so far has been Political Science thanks to its two-hour and forty minute length during the evenings. For career goals, Leah shares a deep interest for Sports Performance and Psychology fueling her belief on the importance of balancing physical and mental health.

Turning to some fun info that Leah gave us, she’s a huge fan of Pad Thai, but her favorite spot in San Diego is the breakfast and brunch hotspot Snooze. Leah’s ideal day off would be spent exploring a new plant nursery and buying way too many houseplants. When we asked her what was something funny about her, she told us that despite having taken three language courses in Spanish, Latin, and German, she still can only speak English. Give Leah a warm welcome when you see her in the office!

Caitlyn Saenz

Our next intern is Caitlyn Saenz who’s hometown is Palmdale, California. Caitlyn’s undergraduate study is focused on Athletic Training. Caitlyn told us that one of her favorite classes she has taken was a Chicano Studies class that delved into various cultures native to Southern California and Mexico. Her least favorite class was an English class where the professor put a little too much Disney into the theming for the semester. Caitlyn aims to work as an Athletic Trainer in a military or ice-hockey related setting and then eventually return as a professor to teach at the junior college or university level.

When asking about some fun facts from Caitlyn, she told us that her favorite type of food is Cuban Food and that Sunset Cliffs on a rainy day  is one of her favorite spots to hang out in San Diego, preferably with a burrito in hand. On her ideal day off, Caitlyn would love to spend some time soaking up sun on a beach or going out camping with her family. When we asked her what was something funny about her, Caitlyn told us that when she was originally learning to talk she spoke with a Boston accent until she was almost three, even though she had no one in the family from Boston. When you see Caitlyn, give her a warm welcome!
