Last Minute Thanksgiving Take-Out

For our weekly post we’re going to do something a little different today. In honor of Thanksgiving week, we’re going to take a step away from our usual health informative posts (just a little) and take a deep dive into something delicious. This week we’re going to take a look at some of our favorite places to eat where you can order for a last-minute Thanksgiving meal should your turkey not make it out of the oven quite to your liking.

Monello

The first restaurant on the list is a brother restaurant to another like it called Bencotto. It’s a delicious Italian place situated in the Little Italy area of downtown San Diego. Their pasta is handmade daily and is oh, so good no matter what you order. If you’re a massive fan of Italian cooking or just pasta in general, this is a great place to order from. Personal favorite from here is the Gnocci Carbonara.

Lazy Dog

This is a bit of an oddball restaurant but hasn’t done me wrong. They have quite a variety of selections from several different ethnic backgrounds and they recently started doing old-school “TV-Dinners” like pot roast and chicken pot pie as well. If you’re looking for a tasty variety, try here. Personal favorite item here is the Beer-battered Fish N Chips.

Mimi’s Cafe

If you’re looking for the classic homestyle Thanksgiving, Mimi’s Cafe is among the best for catching that sensation of home without doing it yourself. While not necessarily as varied or exotic as some of the previous two restaurants, Mimi’s cafe’s menu throws some pretty punches in the flavor section making it worthy of one of the slots on our list. Personal favorite from Mimi’s Cafe is their croque monsieur.
