n = 1

What does this have to do with our practice?

At Solana Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic, we pride ourselves on taking care of patients with the n = 1 approach. Essentially, this means that every patient is an individual - with individual needs, individual goals, individual schedules, and so on. With that being understood, every exam, every visit, and every care plan must be just that - individualized.

The link below gives an in-depth perspective on the n = 1 approach by another medical professional. He references a mentor of his with the following quote:

“No matter what else is going on, the world stops once you enter a room and are face to face with a patient and their family. You can only care for one patient at a time. That patient, in that room, at that moment is the only patient that matters. That is the secret to healthcare.” - Dr. Minesh Mehta

What is n = 1?

The n = 1 concept comes from the definition of “n” in statistics. In statistics, “n” describes the size of a sample being examined in a study or piece of research. If a study was surveying 100 individuals, then n = 100. If a study was conducted on a single individual, then n = 1.

Every person has their own factors and goals, every person is their own case.
